I guess before you answer the question, ‘Can you forget how to love’, you must first be honest enough to admit whether or not you EVER learned how to love...
First of all, LOVE is not a noun...It is a verb...something you do...!!!
Is it like learning how to type, or roller skate, or ride a bicycle, or speak another language...which some say once you learn you never forget...???
NOT FOR ME...who once could speak fluent Italian and roller skate, but learned later in life those talents and skills had long departed my repertoire...
SO...getting back to LOVE...I’m guessing, like many other skills, LOVE NEEDS TO BE PRACTICED to remain alive and well and recognizable...
Again, for me, It is all about being a giver or taker...being selfish or selfless...focused on self or concerned more for others...trusting God to take care of MY needs as I do HIS bidding...not just sometimes, but always...
When Jesus suggested we be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect, He new full well that humans are flawed, but He was trying to convince us that ATTEMPTING TO LOVE IS NEARLY AS GOOD AS ‘MASTERING’ LOVE...He didn’t judge by RESULTS, but by one’s TEMPERAMENT AND WILLINGNESS...!!!
SO...When it comes to LOVE...MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, PRACTICE DOES MAKE PERFECT...!!!
