Hi MaryBeth

Good for you to spread the word - I saw this news early this morning. Pretty scary stuff when you consider the number of people potentially  impacted and the type of information that was hacked. It wll be smart for everyone to watch their bank accounts and credit cards very closely, which you should do anyhow.

I just heard that this morning. It's really bad news and even worse that they sold shares two days after this without saying anything. You'll never convince me they didn't know.

Thank you - the majority of my charges on credit cards are on American Express and I would highly recommend you set up an ALERT on your credit cards.  Each time a charge is made on my AMEX cards, no matter how large or how small, I am alerted.  Also I check in on my account almost daily and they too send notices when an entitiy has checked your credit or opening of a new credit - both are free services of the CreditKarma company and as an American Express Card holder.  I am unsure of process for putting alerts on our savings, checking and investments unless we just check daily.

This is a real credit disaster and EVERYONE must take it extremely seriously.

So after they allowed a breach why would I trust them to protect my information?

Yes they say they may hold the information for a few years as it will always be valuable to those who wish to use our information for their own personal gain.  Thanks Macy for your comment, do hope you stay safe in Georgia with those high winds.
