Bear Picking ApplesOkay, we're now past Labor Day and turning our thoughts from summer fun to autumn activities, New Hampshire-style. Let us now praise the Granite State's rural traditions, which always come to the fore in autumn, reminding us of the traditional values embraced by youth of the world's 4-H clubs:  Pledging "Head to clearer thinking... Heart to greater loyalty...Hands to larger service...Health for better living ".

Whether it s visiting the "pick-your-own" apple farms found throughout the region or selecting pumpkins in the field, autumn is when we reconnect with our down-to-earth agrarian rituals confirming spiritual harmony and abundant harvests.

The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth Village is one rural celebration that promises a "bumper crop of smiles" for all ages; especially Saturday, September 23, when the museum hosts its 13th Annual Harvest Festival.  Foods, crafts, demonstrations, music, fames and rides are sure to tantalize the senses and sensibilities.  Click here for more information on this not-to-be missed autum event.
