They can be pretty convincing with all those cleverly crafted market stats.
Well I had a friend Patricia put it to the test and asked me to look into this advertised offer.
The advertised range value was quite wide, from a low of $263,000 to a top high of $321,000.
So I did the market valuation. Patricia's house had a market value of 'at least' $385,000. And in this market at her location, it would probably sell for at least $395,000. And perhaps more.
Should have Patricia chosen this offer at the maximum value of $321,000, which is doubtful at best that as it would have been certainly lower, then she would have lost at least $64,000....
So in this case, the $64,000 question is - what is your house really worth if you are considering selling.
