I'm a water lover too. Sacramento has two rivers flowing through it, The American, and The Sacramento. We also have several nearby lakes. I'm also an avid swimmer, and find my way to the health club swimming pool on a regular basis.

Myrl Jeffcoat swimming is so good for you! Katherine Hepburn would swim in the ocean almost every day, way into her 80's if I recall correctly. Went swimming in the St. Lawrence River off of Lake Erie this summer with a bunch of women relatives and friends. Glorious!

Sheila Anderson this gushing waterfall is in a small historical town called Prospect in Oregon. It's about a 1/2 hour from Crater Lake, a natural lake that is spectacular. So glad that you like the photo and quotes.
Joe Pryor I couldn't agree more. Just had a conversation recently about our waters on our precious planet and what if we run out?? Fossil fuels can't keep us all hydrated and our lands irrigated.

Hi Gayle - I have our backyard fountain going non-stop and it's so wonderful to hear the sounds of water and to enjoy all the critters that stop by to take a drink and splash around! I have another fountain on a side patio and I can't wait until the weather cools down a bit so I can hear that fountain while having morning coffee and catching up on a little news or reading.

"The Elixir of Life" - I LOVE that and like you, I'm a water person and will definitely be retiring by the water, Gayle. There's something so relaxing and refreshing at the same time, about water. And, I love that your lake is your water source also - that's so unusual in our area!
