Keep in touch, stay top of mind
I am embarrassed to say that I don't do enough to stay in touch with clients other than the regular subscription to American Lifestyle Magazine and the holiday cards. These must work because of the repeat business I am enjoying.
Counting my blessings every day. In 2016 and 2017, it seems that the vast majority of my clients have been those with whom I've closed transactions before, and the rest are referred to me.
As of this writing, I have two former clients who are getting ready to list their respective homes that I sold to them. Really glad they still want to work with me.
Five transactions
Late 2004, I sold a fixer duplex in Alameda CA to Christina, a flight attendant who wanted to invest in real estate. Imagine my surprise, in 2016, her now husband, Kai, interviewed me as they get ready to sell his investment property, two houses on one lot in Oakland. Happily, I got the listing, and double happiness, I brought in the successful buyer.
Shortly afterwards, they asked me to help them find a home for their growing family and in-laws. We were fortunate to find one that exceeded their expectations in Castro Valley.
Barely has the ink dried on that property, they asked me to sell their townhouse also in Castro Valley. Seems like they were getting out of investment properties when the going is good.
All together, from 2004 to 2017, I have completed five transactions with this family. Oh, joy!
Five transactions
In 2009, I represented Jeff and his family in the sale of their condo (and luckily, I also brought the succesful buyer) and purchase of a larger home. This month in 2017, I sold that home. I am now helping Jeff find a replacement home and when we do, that will be my fifth escrow with him.
Four transactions
In 2005. I represented Carmel in buying a house in Alameda and selling his house in Sunnyvale. And a couple of months ago, I again helped Carmel sell his Alameda home and referred him to an agent in Valley Springs where Carmel bought his current home.
