Addison Pacesetters (Addison, Texas residents 50+ years of age) participated in a tour of Dallas's "hidden gems" in and around the city. On September 13, 2017, a few dozen Pacesetters boarded a tour bus, not knowing where we were headed. Only the tour leader - Jeanine, from Dallas By Chocolate, had the itinerary. Even our Pacesetter coordinator, Deena Israel, didn't know where we were headed.
Our trip from the outskirts of Kessler Park to Deep Ellum took us through downtown Dallas where we passed a giant eyeball sculpture (sorry, no picture - the bus was going too fast).
We arrived a what appeared to be a barbershop at 2701 Main Street. The High and Tight has a secret hidden in the back.
After 8:00 pm, the back room of the barbershop opens. It's a bar/club that takes you back to the speak-easy days. With a stage for performers and a fully stocked wall of beverages, you can spend the night getting a haircut, being entertained, and having your thirst quenched.
We got back on the bus and returned to our little town of Addison where there the whole town is a Hidden Gem, right in the shadow of Dallas.
