Come Enjoy the Halloween Pumpkin Plunge

Alga Norte Aquatic Center in Carlsbad

Fall is officially here, Home Depot and other stores are jammed with Halloween stuff, the Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze are open, and it’s almost time for the Pumpkin Plunge in Carlsbad.

Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze now open

This popular floating pumpkin patch is being held at the Alga Norte Community Center in the La Costa area of Carlsbad, at Alicante Road and Poinsettia, on Saturday October 14th. Carlsbad kids will have a chance to lasso their favorite pumpkin from the floating patch to take home for the Halloween festivities.

Aquatic fun in the pool includes several activities – Bone Collector, Creepy Animal Races, Brain Shootout (hmm, I have to wonder about that one!), and more. Kids can enjoy activities on dry land, too, including a pumpkin-themed Bounce House, a ring toss, and photo ops.

There will be floating obstacles for the kids to enjoy, and kids can test their balance and agility on the Key Logs!

The event ends with a special movie on the giant outdoor screen, starting at dusk.

The cost is $10 per person, with children 3 and under admitted for free. The event runs from 5 to 9 pm on Saturday, October 14. To save time, pick up your wristbands before the event, available at the Aquatics Center during normal business hours from September 25 through October 14.

The Dive In Grill will be open, as always, for food throughout the Pumpkin Plunge.

Register now as the event is limited!

Good morning Jeff.

That sounds like fun for all ages. Just FYI after my golf game Sunday, I went to our local WalMart and they were setting up their Christmas trees already...

Hi Jeff - this is certainly a switch for us.  We don't think of pumpkins when we think of plunges but you have weather for it!

Hi James Dray  - it's a pretty popular event.

I haven't been in Costco (or a WalMart) for a couple of weeks but no doubt the Christmas decorations are in full swing. Didn't notice them at Home Depot but now we are seeing the commercials on TV. UGH.

Indeed Grant Schneider

October is often pretty warm here with the Santa Ana winds.  I remember snow on Halloween back in New England on more than one occasion!

I have never been Chris Ann Cleland  but have heard positive things about it. Certainly a different way to snare a pumpkin!

Well I'm glad I could enlighten you George Souto  It was certainly something new for me here.

That's a very interesting concept and a great way to cool off and have some fall fun. It is important to stay creative and innovative for the kids.

Hello Jeff,  Halloween use to be fun as a kid with the corn stalks and soaping windows of teachers we did not like.  Did I say that?
