Claremore Pumpkin Festival 2017
Shepherd's Cross hosts their Claremore Pumpkin Festival 2017 every Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning September 28th. The final day of the festival takes place on November 4th. Yes, pumpkin picking can be fun. But that's not all you get at the festival. Take a stab at completing the hay maze without the benefit of a map...if you dare. Visit the animals in the petting barn. This IS a working farm after all. Take a leisurely hayride around the farm grounds. Sip on spiced apple cider while listening to a fall-inspired story from one of the farmhands. Tour the museum and silo while you're there, too.
In addition to pumpkins, pick up essential fall home decorations such as straw bales and corn stalks. Look around the gift shop for something unique to give a loved one for their birthday, anniversary, Christmas or just because. They also sell grass-fed meat and other healthy food options to take home with you.
Admission to the Claremore Pumpkin Festival 2017 is technically free. However, they do suggest a $5 per person donation. Money raised through the Claremore Pumpkin Festival 2017 benefit local community and international outreach programs provided by Shepherd's Cross Farm and its charity Heart of the Shepherd. Do you have a large group that you'd like to bring to the farm? Call ahead to make arrangements. They're happy to accommodate you.
