It never ceases to amaze me that pet owners can be so irresponsible ! Another prime example is this fella..... found by a lady in a busy parking lot off a busy 5 lane road ... Geez !
She posted on social media and I chimed in to let her know I would help her try to locate the owner.

She had to work all weekend so I then offered to take him in. That turned into 5 days of looking for his momma. No luck. I'm dumbfounded. This little 10 pound monkey is the most gentle, sweetest thing ! My two larger dogs adored him too. I am a sucker for rescuing an animal. Its often my mission to help match-make dog with family and this is exactly what I did in this case.
Little monkey has been re-homed to a family with two little girls, a fenced backyard and all the treats he desires ! I am thrilled. Mission accomplished ! He has been to the vet and is heart worm positive so his new family is stepping up and treating him. Their loyalty began the second they took him into their family. That melts my heart and is why I will continue to help strays for the rest of my life !
( There were over 800 social media shares trying to help connect him to is owners --- within those 5 days with me , at least 6 people recognized his face as a stray they swept off the street as well in the past year )
If I can urge you to do any thing ...these 3 tips are my advise :
Please , please microchip your pet. Please have ID on your dog. My dog has my phone number sewn on theircollar and address engraved on the ID.
Spay or neuter your pet, it gives the animal a better quality of life and prevents unwanted pregnancy and some cancers.
Adopt...don't shop. If we all would visit shelters and rescues instead of designer breeders and shoppes we would put a huge dent in the sad result of euthanasia . It is a horrid process, some are gassed and live thru it to suffer a long death. Some are not given enough of a lethal injection only to convulse and die a horrific death.
Microchip, Spay/neuter, Adopt .
