A Family oriented, German-Style harvest celebration!

Leaves change their colors, chilly morning makes you wear one more layer of clothing, sky gets higher, clouds gets fluffier and whiter. Summer sails down in October. October is the month when the smallest breeze gives you a shower of colorful leaves. For all those reasons, I love October.

To celebrate October and to support community youth program, the Kiwanis Club of Wilton pesented its second annual Oktoberfest on Sunday on Sept.17 from 4-9PM, in and around the Kiwanis Pavilion at the Wilton YMCA on Danbury Road.

A beautiful weather, live music, children’s activities, authentic food and beer , all in one place, this year Oktoberfest turned out to a great success.  About 300 adults and 100 children showed up and enjoyed perfect weather. While kids were playing on the playground, adults could relax and  enjoyed food and drinks.

Music was from Alpine Squeeze, a genuine German-American brass Oom-Pah Band, performed on stage with a full range of traditional and contemporary Oktoberfest songs dance tunes, and toasts, just like in Munich.   Surely, The fun exciting Oom-Pah Music kept your feet off the ground and took you out for a spin on the dance floor.
