New Agents in an Old Business

By
Real Estate Agent with Allred Realty

Many new agents come into this business thinking they are going to be instant millionaires. After starting off great they begin to listen to the "experienced agent" that has found themselves selling a house or two a year. Soon the new agent has begun to lose focus and lose sales.

This is not the case with all experienced agents, however, most experienced agents are not in the office "talking" about how to be successful they are in the marketplace producing. Most new agents desire to learn and be successful in this business. The situation most new agents find themselves in are difficult because they lack training have little or no support. The most logical way to see new agents succeed is to have a broker provide the means to see them equipped for succes.

At Exit Family Realty, our job as brokers, is to assist each agent in their personal goals to become as successful as they each desire to be. We do this by effective and regular training for todays market place. We have access to the best trainers the industry has to offer and ongoing training in the office. At Exit we will do whatever is nesseccary to help you become all that you can be as a top agent. To find out why Exit Realty is the fastest growing real estate company ever and how you can join our team call me today. We will provide the tools you need to be the best real estate agent you can be!

Well said, I do think a lot of new agents come in thinking they don't have to work.

My advice is to Pee alot...

PLAN - make a marketing plan and stick to it, religiously. One of my mentors told me something that has always stuck with me. Most folks market by getting READY, AIM, FIRE. Lots of people get hung up on getting READY, but never quite get around to AIM & FIRE (at least not enough). Keep the getting Ready just to the basics, and put most of your energy directly into AIM, FIRE, AIM, FIRE, AIM, FIRE.

PASSION - have a passion for what we do. The most successful have one thing in common, TOTAL PASSION for the business, this determination will keep you motivated.

PERSISTENCE - many agents market a farm, FSBO's, expired's what have you, a couple of times, then give up when you don't get the results you are hoping for.

PROJECTION - another mentor enlightened me to the fact that POSITIVE THINKING actually helps manifest POSITIVE RESULTS. Sounds like a load, I know. But try it. Get up in the morning and spend a few minutes with your eyes closed (not recommended while driving) and picture yourself talking to a new seller and agreeing to a new listing. Meeting a new buyer and helping them find "their Dream Home". You will develop confidence that will be evident to everyone you come in contact with.

PLAY - take time out to have some fun. Don't get so entrenched in the day to day that you become consumed. That will only lead to burn out.
