Living Small: The Tiny House Trend - Myrtle Beach Tiny Houses For Sale

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Jerry Pinkas Real Estate Experts

The Tiny House Movement has grown in the past 7 years as people want to live simply, with less clutter, less stuff, less stress, retire and downsize. The addition of many national TV shows have helped fuel this national trend as well and that trend is no different here in Myrtle Beach. Shows on HGTV like Tiny House Big Living, Tiny House Builders, and Tiny House Hunters have been popular shows. But just remember... not everything you see on TV is a reality. We have heard and seen that many cities and towns do not allow tiny houses to be built in certain areas. People have found that their dream of a tiny house may have changed because of issues with zoning, minimum square footage laws, the distance between homes or town approvals due to community density issues.

That doesn't stop customers from asking! We have found people looking for this style of property are also looking for low prices. But not all tiny homes have low prices. Some of these small homes that we have recently sold are not basic, stripped out boxes with questionable construction. These are quality built with the latest building codes and upgrades that will last a lifetime.  Some come with granite, stainless appliances and plus all the modern amenities of a larger luxury home, but with a smaller footprint.

When we say "Tiny House" we're not talking about houses on wheels or recreational vehicles. Those things deprecate and go down in value. What we're talking about is a real investment, a real home, on land that you own, where you have the upside potential of price appreciation.

Here is an example of a single-family home we just sold: 2 bedrooms 2 baths, 1 car garage, 950 square ft heated sq ft, whirlpool tub in the master bedroom, small fenced in the back yard and a community pool, sold for $157,000.

Owning a tiny house doesn't mean you need to live on a budget and have a tiny lifestyle! It's all about having the flexibility to do other things and live a carefree lifestyle. Especially if you live here at the beach in South Carolina! With over 1700 restaurants, shops, live theater, shows, festivals, fantastic weather and of course the beach, you will be out enjoying all the Grand Strand has to offer.

If you are looking for a fantastic beach lifestyle and are curious about small homes, give us a call 843-839-9870. You have questions, we have answers. We are here to help!

Sadly Small homes are not allowed because of the reason of not being able to tax them high enough to cover costs of public services
