Investment opportunity, in Northern Colorado Mountains

Investment opportunity, high in Northern Colorado Mountains

Lucille Schmitt and Sue Stevens, Ponderosa Realty Associates, recently listed the Big Horn Cabins, on the banks of the Cache la Poudre River. The property consists of a large Canadian log home and 5 rental cabins with over 420 feet of river frontage!  The cabins are rented from May through October, with very little vacancy.

.

I can certainly see why people would want to vacation in one of the cabins and walk right out the door to fish, or just sit and listen to the sound of the river rolling by!

It’s only about 10 miles south of the Red Feather road, to connect to Colorado Hwy 14, the Upper Poudre Canyon and the Cache la Poudre River. The river is designated “wild and scenic”, attracting whitewater rafters (May- August) and anglers year round.

A few weeks ago my husband and I took the dog for an afternoon drive up to Cameron Pass on the Continental Divide. We drove past the Big Horn Cabins and stopped several times to capture the first glimpse of fall  and photos of the Nokhu Crags, on our way. In September, the Poudre River is lower and a little slower, but still quite beautiful. This photo of the river was taken from the car as we were driving by ... - I think we were tired of continuously pulling off the road for more photos!

We have seen moose, elk and bear on this drive before, but on this day they were nowhere in sight. We had a great afternoon anyway, and returned home happy and refreshed. The dog enjoyed getting out and exploring, too. It’s a short drive from Red Feather and one well worth taking! I never tire of seeing the beauty that is all around us.

.

The Big Horn Cabins is a great investment opportunity for anyone who would love to live, play and work in this most gorgeous area of the Northern Colorado Mountains!

This is incredibly beautiful, Mary. By we were getting tired of pulling off the road for photos, did you mean your husband? LOL. Because I know Adam complains all the time when I'm screaming at him to stop stop I have to take a photo.

I could also see sitting in one of those chairs and fishing in the river. No, I am not standing in the river in waders.

Hi Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents Elizabeth, well, we were both growing weary of pull off over here, pull of over there...let the dog out, put the dog back in... So that river shot was on the way home and there was no more stopping for me- that is until we got to the Boy Scout Rd.,  but that's another story. :-)  I'd skip the waders too Elizabeth!

Thanks for stopping in.

Mary, thinking of you, wondering how much snow you have seen in your area.   Hope you have interest on these cabins.

Hi Joan, well we got a lot of snow yesterday, maybe a foot?, but it was so wet it has already melted down quite a bit - the trees this morning were so frosted and pretty against the blue sky.  Paved roads are completely dry :-)  What is your weather like in Denver?
