I ran into the Rock Pick Legends Rock Shop in Salt Lake City just before they closed on Wednesday to pick up some polishing grit for our tumblers and ended up buying a great deal on used polisher, grinder and saw set combo. Check out their website on equipment and rocks they offer. There are some fun rocks to look at in their store location.

My husband started working with lapidary equipment when was younger and now he is finally getting back to the hobby. We have collected some wonderful rock specimens and hope to do some cuts and polishing soon.

I can't wait to try them out and get fabulous results. I will let you know what we are able to do with this set.

Carol, amazing rocks, where in Salt Lake is this shop? The only rock shop that I knew of was on 300 West and about 900 North.

I just found a chunk of native copper ore on the south shore of Lake Superior about two weeks ago. I posted about it on my Wisconsin company blog.

Tony and Darcy, The rock shop is at 1017 S Main. It is on the East side of the street. They are very helpful. They were featured on Cash and Treasures recently.

Eric, I saw Lake Superior on Cash and Treasures. I would love to find some of the Agate from there. Were you looking for copper at the time you found it.?

Let us in on all your treasure hunting adventures.(even in the rock shops etc.)

Carol, it's fairly easy to find agates in the south shore area between Duluth - Superior and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I wasn't really looking for copper. I was picking up a few pieces of driftwood when I spotted the native copper chunk.

I have to get to the rock shop this week and get another tumbler as we have more rock chips to polish and the other three tumblers are all in use.

We have four batches of rocks tumbling.

I seem to be a regular visitor to the rock shop lately to pick up items. Picked up some templates for lapidary we will be starting the other day.
