An arduous process ~ Made it… Unscathed ~ Happy Buyers in Travisso

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker United Realtors® ~ 512.346.1799

Sometimes building just doesn’t go as planned. It’s important to subscribe to the three P’s:  exercise PATIENCE, work through the PROCESS with PURPOSE!

I listed my client’s home in Canyon Creek early in the spring while inventory was low and sold their home. It was easier to have the home staged, not be inconvenienced with showings and have the luxury of no contingencies on their dream home.

We contracted with Toll Brothers in one of my favorite communities Travisso. They chose a floor plan they fell in love with when they first moved to Austin but didn’t build. The lot was carefully chosen with a spectacular view, facing the right direction and the right size to hold their 5,000 SF+ home. Upgrade selections took time and deliberation making sure everything coordinated to their desires.

Permitting took place and the building process began. Miscommunication between builder and vendors resulted in some costly delays and reconstruction of some major components to the home. The management team came into play and time again obstacles were removed resulting ultimately in the finished product being completed to the satisfaction of my clients. Unfortunately it wasn't the building "experience" we had hoped to enjoy.

What it boils down to is customer service. We all make mistakes and I’m sure this transaction is one to be remembered and hopefully not duplicated.

Congratulations to my buyers who closed and are anxiously waiting to move in and enjoy their dream home. Many blessings to you as you move in before the holidays!

Dorie we all have transactions that seem to hit bumps in the road at every turn.  The important thing is to steer around the road bumps, not give up, and make it to a successful closing.

I'm glad it all turned out well in the end. You hear such horror stories about building. This is again where we differ. There aren't too many developments here.

I've built twice in my lifetime so far. Our first build was not so pleasant. All kinds of problems and issues had to be resolved.  We actually ended up in a lawsuit defending ourselves because of some accident that happened on the property during construction. Our only crime was being the owners on paper. We hadn't even moved in yet.

The second build was awesome.

The difference was the builder and how he ran his business. Any issues that came up were handled professionally and in a timely manner.
