Eleanor Jarman

Managing Real Estate Broker with Fathom Realty AR LLC PB00068179

Eleanor Jarman was born in Sioux City, Iowa back in 1904 to Julius and Amelia. Sorry I do not and cannot find any information about her childhood, education and so on however, what I can tell you is the rest of the story, well sort of….

Records show she married Leroy and moved to Chicago. In 1933 she along with two others a George Dale and Leo Minneci tried to rob a clothing store in Chicago. As a result, the store owner was shot and died, witnesses noted the license plate and the trio was arrested. Although she was never charged for the robbery she was charged as an accomplish in the store owners death.

For seven years she was a model prisoner but in 1940 she escaped. For the next 35 years she made contact with her family through classified ads in the newspaper. She is on the FBI’s ten most wanted fugitives. She is presumed dead as she would be 113 years old now. The mystery is what alias she used during her time before her death. Until tomorrow my wish for you is happy sales and a great time with family or friends.

Good morning James Dray ,

It's amazing she was a fugitive for so long and was never found. Chances are great she has long been gone.

What a facinating story.  It is interesting that she managed to stay off the grid, let alone escape.  A

Hi James Dray - Not sure she would have been able to go underground that long in our modern era.

Now that is a different sotry than what I have seen you posting before. As clever as she obviously was in escaping detection you wonder what she could have done going legit.

Sounds very interesting, living on the lam for so long and never being caught.  The classified ads thing sounds very creative.

Guess she was motivated to escape prison, James.  I went to Google and learned her sentence was for 199 years.  A good mystery story!
