BALANCE YOUR TIME BETWEEN WORK AND LIFE

You will have more success if you break down your goals into daily and weekly goals.

How can you manage your time, live a stress-free life and have balance? Two things stand out for me. Be guided by your values and have a purpose then stay on course. You can stay on course with your personal GPS.

The comparison to using a GPS is an easy one. We have them in our car and on our phone. We use them to order a car on Uber or we use them to find a restaurant nearby. We have become more productive and less stressed because we have used this very simple tool to help us navigate.

What is so remarkable about this instrument? First, it lets you know where you are now. Then you can decide where you want to go. The GPS then gives you step by step directions

How similar is this to you and your personal GPS; for your career, your business, and your personal life? Are you using a GPS for these critical areas of your life? You use your personal GPS by setting your goals and then move toward goal achievement. The best way to accomplish this is to set goals that are harmonious with you, to write them down and then navigate obstacles. You need to continually evaluate and adjust course. That is a great start. Now here are some additional steps to develop your personal GPS.

First, take stock of where you are. Do an inventory of your strengths and weaknesses, both personal and professional. In your personal life take stock of areas such as:

•          Your social life and social development

•          Your physical well being

•          Your financial and career management

•          Your family life

•          Your ethics and beliefs

In your professional life do a check off in these areas:

•          Your productivity skills

•          Your sales or influencing skills

•          Your people skills

•          Your time management skills

Now you know where you are—your starting point. Where do you now want to go? We refer to this as the goal achievement process. Just like the GPS is a self-correcting instrument in motion so too is your goal achievement a continuing self-correcting process. To get to your destination, or in this case your goal, you must continually measure your progress against where you started.

Goal

You will have more success if you break down your goals into daily and weekly goals. In this way, you have short term progress measurement points. Use your Smartphone as your personal organizer and check off goals as they are accomplished. As you progress with your goal achievement your horizons will expand and your self-confidence will increase. You will establish a new habit of mapping your goals, checking your progress, and celebrating success. This will become a habit you can’t live without. Enjoy the journey.  For a similar post on our web site see HOW TO FIND YOUR WORK LIFE BALANCE.

Snow Removal in Kentlands
The Kentlands Citizens Assembly (KCA) begins snow removal at an accumulation of 2" and will continue until the snowfall has stopped and the mews are cleared. The KCA will communicate with residents through email blasts and posts on the KCA website, www.KentlandsTownCrier.com.

Residents and business owners in Gaithersburg are required to remove snow and ice from the public sidewalks abutting their property within 12 hours of the last precipitation.

Roy, cool blog. I am a big fan and student of Google's always - changing rules on what they and their spiders and crawlers like in blogs for its SEO rankings. (Don't forget about that stuff).
