The 2017 Carlsbad Village Faire 2017
November 5th in Carlsbad
We are well into the Fall season and it’s time again for one of arts and crafts lovers’ favorite events, the Carlsbad Village Faire, on Sunday November 5th, that’s just a little over 2 weeks away, right after Halloween.
The annual Carlsbad Village Faire 2017 takes place in downtown Carlsbad Village on the north side of Carlsbad Village Drive along State Street and Grand Avenue, and on neighboring streets, covering roughly a 14-block area. It’s like a mobile mall!!
Our popular Carlsbad Village Faire takes place twice a year in May and November, and supposedly is the largest one-day outdoor fair in the country – a pretty impressive statistic for our little Carlsbad Village by the sea. Our weather is pretty pleasant in Carlsbad at this time of year, and if history is any indication you can expect a crowd of 100,000+ attending. NOT your ordinary mall by any standards.
The 2017 Carlsbad Village Faire, now in its 41st year, opens at 8 am and runs until 4 pm. With the – shudder - holidays approaching, you can expect some great shopping opportunities, with more than 900 vendors offering everything you can imagine, and want!
Kids and parents will certainly have lots of fun – the Carlsbad Village Faire offers rides, more than 50 booths of food of all types (e.g., Thai, Hawaiian), and plenty of music, including the Rotary Club of Carlsbad traditional beer and wine garden with live bands and large screen TV. Once again the Kiwanis Club will feature their 25-year tradition, the popular annual pancake breakfast at the Train Depot a few steps away from the heart of the Faire between 7 am and 12 noon, serving sausage, pancakes, orange juice and coffee.

And there is lots for kids to enjoy, including a super slide, a bounce house, a rock climbing wall, face painting, plus arts and crafts.
And if by some remote chance you tire of the Carlsbad Village Faire vendors, there are numerous shops and restaurants along State Street, Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive to explore. No doubt there is something to please every member of the family no matter how long you stay…and don’t forget the Carlsbad beaches are just a couple of blocks away, too!
As with other Carlsbad Fairs and crowds, expect that parking will be a challenge, so unless you have the patience to spend time driving around looking for parking (remember, it’s all FREE in Carlsbad Village), use one of the 2 shuttles, running from the northwest corner of Sears at The Shoppes at Carlsbad (formerly the Westfield Mall) near the 78 and El Camino Real, and the Poinsettia Coaster Station on Avenida Encinas just north of Poinsettia Lane off the 5 freeway. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes.
Don’t miss one of the nation’s best outdoor one-day fairs Sunday, November 5th in Carlsbad Village – fall is a beautiful season at the beach in Carlsbad, and the Carlsbad Village Faire 2017 promises to be another winner following decades of success.
