This morning as I was strolling through ActiveRain Land, I visited the post shared by Paul S. Henderson, CRS, REALTOR®, entitled: One day, you'll be just... He shared the following anonymous quote: "One day, you'll be just a memory for some people. Do your best to be a good one."
Thank you Paul for offering an opportunity for us to pause and reflect.
As I soaked in those words, my mind turned toward the word, Success.
Success is a word that opens itself up to our own personal definition. No one can truly define what success means to you, or me - we each have the unique privilege of figuring that one out for our-self.
My response to Paul's morning quote was: "It is my hope that when I pass, if people say -'I felt welcomed, loved, and valued in her presence' - then I will have lived a successful life."
The word success is often tossed around like confetti - advertisers love to impose their definition upon us. Yet personally, some of the most successful people I know are those that love abundantly and live life to the fullest - yet their bank account may not declare success if you define success in terms of monetary wealth.
One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou:
"I've learned that people will forget what you said,
people will forget what you did,
But people will never forget how you made them feel."
So, how do you define success...??
