Tea, South Dakota is the only city in the United States. Tea is located in Lincoln County, South Dakota, near Sioux Falls. 
Sometimes, Tea is referred to as a suburb of Sioux Falls, although it was founded as its own community.

History
Tea lovers may be pleased to learn that Tea, SD was actually named after the tradition of drinking tea. The original name of the town was Byron. There came a period when the town desired to obtain an official designation. The residents discovered that the name Byron was already in use. The post office instructed the residents to provide a list of ten proposed names, from which one would be chosen. Nine names were brought forward. At that point, the residents became stuck and decided to break for tea. The group then agreed to adopt the name "Tea" to commemorate the fact that a tea break was being observed by people while choosing the name of the town. The post office then chose the name “Tea”, and became the name of the town. The town was plotted in 1900 and incorporated in 1906.
Geography
The population was 3,806 at the 2010 census. Tea is located at 43°26′53″N 96°50′15″W (43.448055, -96.837587). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.69 square miles (4.38 km2), all of it land. Data from 2010 census showed that the number of people, households and families residing in Tea are 3,806, 1,254 and 1,009 respectively. The population density was 2,252.1 inhabitants per square mile (869.5/km2). Here is the racial makeup of the city: 96.9% White, 0.1% Native American, 0.7% African American, 0.1% Asian, 0.3% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.3% of the population.

Parks and recreation
Tea contains four recreational areas: Tea Athletic Complex, Howling Ridge Park, and Prairie Trails Park.
Tea City Park
Located at the Corner of Main Avenue and Brian Street, the Tea City Park incorporates a swimming pool with water slide, playground equipment, access to a bike path and restrooms, basketball courts, fishing pond with fountains and a picnic shelter. 
Prairie Trails Park
Prairie Trails Park is located at the south end of Poplar Avenue. 
It features playground equipment with an open area for soccer fields. There are portable restrooms in the park.
Tea Athletic Complex
This venue incorporates an open space area for soccer and flag football, in addition to two baseball fields. 
Besides, there are restroom facilities, concession stands and picnic shelters. Arrangements are on for additional facilities like multiple t-ball fields, sand volleyball courts, baseball fields, tennis courts and soccer fields.
Howling Ridge Park
Tea's newest park equipped with tons of fun for all kids, located on N. Devon Avenue by the white water tower. 
Teapot Days
Teapot Days is an annual community event held each June that lasts three days. The event normally features craft/art shows, carnival rides, fireworks, a parade, food vendors and musical concerts. 
“Teapot Days” has been celebrated in June by the community of Tea, to honor its heritage and spirit. In the older months, the fun will continue with a “Winter Festival.”
Tea Community Library
The Tea Community Library is established at the Northwest side of the Middle School/High School. The library is a full service library/media center. There are over 16,000 titles available for checkout including fiction, non-fiction, young adults and children’s titles. There is a room set apart for easy reading/children’s books. 
Additional collections available for reading and studying are videos, DVDs, books on tape, reference materials and magazines.
Tea Community Hall
The Tea Community Hall is located at 200 W. Maple Street and is available for rent. 
This building is also known as the old St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
Tea Museum
Tea museum is located in the former Catholic Church built in 1906. 
You can check out the many pictures and items in the museum whenever you pay a visit here. Some items like clothing and quilts are just a few of the items one can see when touring the Tea Museum. The Tea Museum has several teapots on display. An inventory of the teapots indicated that there were close to 300 on display.
Tea Swimming Pool
The tea swimming pool is located at 225 E. Brian St. Tea, SD 57064.
