Los Angeles Dodgers World Series 2017 YES not 1988.... not Oakland but the Astros...

Well time flies, hard to believe it has been 29 years since the Los Angeles Dodgers have been to the World Series. As I was busy taking care of Real Estate, so I could focus on the game this afternoon, I could not help myself and wonder.

It is currently 102 degrees in Westchester and I am confident at least six to ten degrees warmer at Chaves Ravine. Today, Ticket Prices are starting for the cheap seats around $1500 and go as high as $15,000 vs. in 1988 they were going for $50-$750.Now  that is what I call  a huge inflation in 29 years.

Personally, I am glad I am sitting at home in an Airconditioned environment. Interested to see how this will all play out. I am lucky my team the Boston Red Sox have been eliminated so I can truly watch the game for its enjoyment not having to be emotionally attached to the results.

Many Angelinos are not baseball fans, in spite of this, the fact  is the World Series  has created a buzz in the city.

The world-famous tourist attraction: Pink’s Hotdog Stand is covered in Dodger Blue. People driving around with Dodger Blue Flags on their cars. Good to see such excitement.

Fox Studio has been changing their banners well see for yourself.

Many names should be familiar to fans from the 1988 games, such as Mike Scioscia, Mark McGwire, Dennis Eckersley and the names go on and on. When watching this   game, please take notes of the player’s names, because the odds are high they will be remembered for a long time.

Now with that said: PLAY BALL!!!!!

I'm watching the Series, Endre Barath, Jr. ... but as a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, I'm still suffering.  Ouch!  Baseball at this level rarely disappoints regarding entertainment and drama.  I'm sure you're right .. and this will be no different.

Stay cool,

Gene

WOW! Endre. I just saw your post on Google as I was looking for the scores from last night. By the sounds of it, I missed a very exciting game. One that will go down in history with the 8 home runs. I used to be a Dodger fan in my youth, but I am now a true Texas fan for all our teams, which means I cheer for those Houston Astros. Like you I will be watching from my TV tomorrow night, since I can't believe those outrageous prices too. Go Astros!

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. - My husband has been a die-hard Dodger fan since they were in the LA Coliseum in 1958. He was a 6 year old seeing his first baseball game and remembers the field layout vividly. Go Dodger Blue!

Hi Endre -- The Astros are from the American League --- how did this happen?   I think the Dodgers should be awarded the series by default...just sayin'.
