Tips on Staging your listings

Services for Real Estate Pros with Bloom Again Design

If you have never had a listing professional staged you might not fully understand what staging can do.

This is my blog. Ask me anything pertaining to staging or interior design and I will answer it to the best of my knowledge.  In some cases you can actually send me photos of your home/listing. I’m here to help and if at any time you want to experience a professional staging please give us a call we would love to share that experience with you.
Bloom Again Home Staging and Design is an accredited staging and interior design company.  All our stagers are designs students or have a degree in interior design. We understand interiors. And I’m here to help you get that place sold.

OK Tips for the day, week, maybe month or when the spirit moves me.

Lets talk closets
Every, every, every buyer opens the closet doors to take a look see. I know they say, never say never or never say everyone but everyone opens the closet doors.  If you have a home that the owners are still residing in, check those closets. If they looked stuffed to the gills the buyers will put in their little memory bank that there is no storage in the whole house. I know crazy but true.  Here’s what you can do.

1. Clear out the closet as much as possible.

2. Hang the closes in a color code fashion. Or all items in the order of length. The idea is to give order. It works. It gives calm to a place that usually is not an orderly/calm space.

3.This applies to both types of closets but with a walk in closets especially. Remove most of the shoes or at least the ones that don’t look brand new.

3. Have the realtor or friend take a big breath. Smell anything??? If you do, find the source and get it out. When you have the carpets clean have them do the closets as well if not a can spray cleaner will work and put in an air fresher.

I went to Costco tires the other day the smell of tires took my breath away (not in a good way) I asked the tire guy how he works in that smell and he told me, “I don’t even smell it anymore.” Well I did and so will your buyers.

So get those Closets clean and smelling good.

After staging one couples house they told me the house felt so different after staging it they didn't want to sell! I told them oh no your realtor doesn't want to hear that. Sadly their home sold in three weeks.

Hi Karla: Great first blog and welcome to Active Rain. I like the point you made about the tires - so true! I look forward to reading more of what you have to say.

PS - make sure to join the Stage It Forward Group here on Active Rain and then post this to that group. That way a lot more stagers will see it and comment.
