Before I became a Realtor, I read my Broker's (Julie Chapman) blog on Active Rain....little did I know that she would think joining would be a great idea for me, too. I mean, what else do I have to do? I have three kids, ages 7, 3, and 13 months. Between ballet, baseball and bottles, I guess I will be blogging! Funny, I thought I was a pretty smart kid, but Julie had to explain to me what a blog is....
What an adventure my life has become. I never thought that I would be a Realtor, but, then again, real estate is all I know. For six years, I worked for my parents, owners of Huntley Homes, Inc., as bookkeeper, errand runner....you name it, I did it! As their business grew, so did the number of kids in my family. I thought more and more about my future, my family's future, and I knew that the answer was right in front of me.
I enrolled in a pre-license course, and, after calling Julie a thousand times with a thousand questions, I passed! For me, the decision to work for Julie Chapman and the Chapman Realty Builder team was an easy one. In addition to the longstanding relationship she has with my family, I was able to know her on both a personal and professional level. Over the years, Julie listed and sold several of my personal homes in Glynn County. She always handled each transaction with the highest level of professionalism, and made sure each homebuyer was a happy homeowner. Julie is not only my broker and mentor, she is my friend.
All of this brings me back to why I joined Active Rain.... That's easy.... I did it because my Broker made me.
