Caleb's Club HouseMy radio interview with Kelsey Kittlson, Program Director, and Shannon Schmidt, Founder of Caleb's Clubhouse, was a fun and informative visit.

 

Caleb's Clubhouse is a special school for children ages infant to 18 with learning disabilities such as autism. As the father of a child with high functioning autism I was/am very interested in their work. I think you too will enjoy this interview.

Caleb's Clubhouse is named after Shannon's son. She got the idea to put together this program after a trip to Minneapolis for additional care for her son.

I believe Shannon's vision will be a GREAT benefit to the Minot ND area for many years to come.

I'm sure this was a very enlightening interview - unfortunately, I'm up against the clock and will have to return. Autism is a topic that really interests me and I hope one day we will know more about it - how to prevent it, or at least manage it a lot better. D

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD we were very fortunate with our son Timmothy. My brother is a psychologist and he picked up on it when Timmothy was only 2 to 3 years old. My Bride took the bull by the horns and really dove in to what we could do and enrolled Timmothy in several programs including those available through Minot State University. Timmothy is an amazing young man with a very high IQ and several wonderful talents. The only sign of his high functioning autism today is that he is not the best conversationalist yet he is an excellent communicator via print, music, and the arts.

Autism is so misunderstood. The IQ is generally high and the talents can be many.
