Well, this is my first attempt at blogging, which really sounds like something I would never want to admit to doing!LoL.
Cumming Construction LLC. is in the process of building an interesting looking custom roof deck for an architect in center city.
We started this project in late april and will most likely be finished in June. I will probably have some pics of this job on my website at: www.cummingconstruction.net.
the deck will consist of pressure treated lumber substructure with a grey composite decking material on top.
what I like best about the design is a wing shaped roof overhead with stainless steel diagonal wire bracing along the sides. this deck also features a granite counter with sink and built in firepit with custom made hood.
Some of the challenges were getting the custom brackets that support the main structure to get bolted and aligned so that everything works together as a complete unit. another problem that we are facing is the limited space with which to work, the street is basically an alley that is too narrow for any delivery trucks to get down,so we have to carry everything for the whole project down the street from the corner. Yea, real fun!
We also have another project that will get underway at the end of june which is also in the city.
This work consists of creating a third floor master suite with a huge bathroom and walk in closets.
the bathroom will have a tile walk in shower with body jets and glass doors.
the tile will be made of imported travertine and will feature a claw foot tub with brass fixtures.
the kitchen below will also be remodeled at a later date. I love to create dream homes for people that have a flair for the imaginative when it comes to design.
most of the work that I do is designed and built by myself and my crew, I don't like to use a lot of subcontractors. I think that having my hands on the work gives the work a much better quality and finish.
We have built quite a few additions to homes in the main line and we specialize in room additions that are both energy efficient and comfortable as well as affordable.
