S&P Trying to Bring Some Tranparency to the 1031 TIC Market

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with 1031reviews.com

Given the growth of the 1031 TIC Sponsor market and the lack of regulation, the potential for fraud is high.  A positive sign that S&P is providing third party ratings on 1031 TIC Sponsors: http://www2.standardandpoors.com

It's not charity on their part (they get Sponsors to pay a fee I imagine), but a good first step.  And given their track record with corporate debt issuers, I'm not holding my breath. But a good start

In the meantime, we are working hard to add ratings and comments to our feedback site: http://www.1031Reviews.com

David:

I haven't had a chance to look at your site yet. I appreciate you stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. Regarding the TIC industry, it is imperative that investors work with reputable financial advisors who work with established, reputable broker dealers that conduct substantial due diligence on behalf of their clients before investing in a TIC program.

I made some clarifying comments regarding the 1031-121 strategy, so that people won't be confused. Again, I appreciate you stopping by.
