There is some major activity brewing 730 acres south of Kissimmee between Florida’s Turnpike and Lake Tohopekaliga. Developers of Osceola County’s long-awaited Tohoqua development have partnered with Mattamy Homes on its first phase.
The builder which is based out of Toronto is finally making the $1.2 billion project a realty. This project has not been a quick concept. Rather it has been 12 years in the making. It has had to overcome approval issues and recessions.
The development will have over 300 homes which include single family and townhomes starting at 1,500 square feet, according to Tohoqua Development Group. Prices will begin from the low $200,000. It will also include 2,500 single family lots and as many as 1,000 rental units with 475,000 square feet of commercial space and an 18 hole championship golf course.
Developers are working with NeoCity/BRIDG on housing options. Future residents can expect to view models next summer.
