  1. Plymouth Rock N’ Run

Bring on that pumpkin pie! You will already have burned off those delicious calories because you are lacing those running shoes and joining in Thanksgiving Day at the Plymouth Rock N’ Run! It is aUSATF-certified 5k and 10k race, and this year, race organizers have added a new 10 mile route along Yorba Regional Park and the Santa Ana River Trail. But the fun doesn’t end at the finish line. You and your family members can also enjoy a finish-line festival with a silent auction, costume contest, lots of choices of food and fun! 2013 marks this events 6-year anniversary. Special awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners of the 5K and 10K races. Medals will be presented to age/gender group winners three deep. All 1K, 5K and 10K participants receive a custom-designed finishers dogtag medal. 5K and 10K runs are chip-timed. 5K walk and 1K kids run are not timed. Online registration is available up until the start of the event. Best of all, the funds raised by the sponsors and ‘racers’ directly support the Reeve-Irvine Research Center at UC, Irvine. The mission of the RIRC is to find new treatments for spinal cord injuries through collaborating research and educational efforts of scientists and clinicians at the University of California, Irvine, and around the world.

2) Turkey Trot: Dana Point

The Turkey Trot at Dana Point is hosted by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and is one of America’s most scenic Thanksgiving Day Runs. After lacing up your favorite running shoes, you can pass by the beautiful beach, majestic cliffs and coves of Dana Point. Hey, and the race is both flat, and scenic, which is a huge bonus! It features a 10K, 5K and always fun Kids Gobble Wobble.

3) Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Anaheim is gearing up to celebrate those with us, and those no longer with us. The 4th Annual Dia de los Muertos celebration will include mariachi and folkloric dancers, arts and crafts, and fun face painting for the kids. Most importantly, families who attend will be invited to place photos of their loved ones in a traditional Dia de los Muertos alter.

4) Caring Santa

Just for Children with Special Needs. Caring Santa is coming to town! Reserve your spot for a private photo experience today at the Brea Mall. Caring Santa will be waiting for you at Center Court, so don’t miss this opportunity to have your child’s picture taken with Mr. Claus!

5) Sit. Down. Stay. Smile!

Admit it: you just said “Aaaahhh!” It’s time for Rocky to get his Groove On! Get that little Santa hat out of your closet (you know you have one) and bring your precious fur baby to Pet Photo Night at Brea Mall. Santa will be waiting at Center Court and expecting a tail wag or two.
