Granddaughter #3 Arrived Early This Morning!
A long awaited moment happened this morning while I was standing in line with a good friend in Chicago waiting for our flight to San Diego, delayed for almost 4 hours.
I was in Chicago for the CRS meetings (more about our meetup in another post) and shared a cab to the airport early this morning with 2 good friends. We had breakfast at the airport (yum..sorta) and had plenty of time to share lots of personal stories as our respective flights kept getting delayed. It became a joke as to who would be delayed the longest!!
I got a text message from my wife who was in LA with our daughter to let me know that things were starting to happen early this morning while we were eating breakfast. Then, a while later...flight delayed again...a message that our daughter and her husband were off to the hospital. We had barely walked from the food court to our gate for our San Diego flight and the photo popped up of our new granddaughter, grandbaby #4, just before boarding. I love technology!!
Sorry I can't share the photo without permission. My kids are pretty private and I respect that. But for the record, she is beautiful, weighing in at 7 lb. 10 oz. I can't wait to get to LA to see her, but need to get over this cold I came home with first!
