Taking advantage of a tough market

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Wiliams -Citywide

Hi Fellow agents..

In the last few weeks I've received calls from a number of agents who noticed my info on a certain' lead' generation web site.

The company has promised good leads in your area.. for which you pay a good penny per month to secure the turf.

The agents who called me are mostly KW agents ... and so I guess they felt safer speaking to me than calling just anyone.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else out there is experiencing companies who are preying on these tough times by selling services they don't deliver.. and making it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the service despite the fact that they haven't delivered a single lead at all?

In our ' indepedent contractor' world .. we tend not to share our marketing secrets but in this time of real compression in our industry- we need to protect our fellow agents from companies that are unscrupulous or who make false claims just to bleed just a little more from those who may be despertate to generate business.

I hate to reveal the name of the company.. but if anyone out there has had a similar issue with a company from California called " E......Ks' " please share if they've really delivered .. or if you too may be the victim of a a cruel and unethical company whose only goal is to become richer at the expense of fellow agents.

Sharing and caring is what makes us better people. Let's make sure we can stop this company before they clean out the wallets of our co workers ?

REspectfully-

Kathy Fong

I am looking to spend money on online advertising, but it seems like there is little guarantee from the companies that anyoen will even look at your site.

Hi Kathy,

I would just ask the question directly, do you guys know  "The Actual Name of the Lead Generator"

and what is your experience with them.

I think you will get the info you seek.

All the best!

I would love to be your Realtor® in Akron Ohio!

Believe me when I say to never, ever spend your precious money on a lead source. I have been there and done that!! I never received one good lead after hundreds of dollars. You should spend your time on your own website and raise your search results. I have 3 closings this week from google searches for me in Akron, Ohio. I also am working with 4 buyers from the web right now. I never return those lead calls or emails. I am done. They do not work!! Thank you, great topic.

I guess if you "perked" your coffee in the morning you would know what service Kathleen is referring too. I have never believed it to be a good idea to pay money back to a customer for using your services, which is the principle behind this company. Check them out, they provide the same service for the automobile industry, the home repair industry and many others. Unless they are willing to get paid based upon performance of the referral, I will never again consider a lead generation company!

If it is such a great program I'll pay you out of the first few transactions not up front.

Hi Kathy, Its great to see you back on AR.  I never pay upfront for hopes of leads.  Just referrals at closing.  I would agree with David in that you can beat these folks by working on your own SEO.
