Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended World War 1 hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day.
The community of Santa Barbara celebrates a week of Patriotic Activities beginning on November 4, 2017 thru to November 12, 2017. Here are a list of those activities.
1. Vietnam veteran’s lunch with Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Jack Jacobs. November 4, 2017 (11-1pm) Elks Club
2. Granada Theatre Movies that Matter: November 10, 2017 (7pm) free admission to those in uniform
3. Veterans Day Ceremony at Santa Barbara Cemetery November 11, 2017 (10-11am)
4. Veterans Parade: November 12, 2017 (12-1pm) State Street (from Sola Street to Cabrillo Boulevard) concluding at the 5th Annual Salute to Vets at Carriage Museum
5. Parachute Landing: Sunday November 12, 2017 (12 to 12:30 approximately) Cabrillo Boulevard, between State and Castillo Streets.
6. 5th Annual Salute to Vets Sunday November 12, 2017 (Noon to 5pm) Carriage Museum, 129 Castillo Street
