Follow up on my "Trapcall" experience. No Caller ID solved.
I hate getting the "No Caller ID" calls and typically don't bother to answer them. Check out the app that Mike found and needed to use.
In November 2015, wrote a blog about annoying phone calls that were coming into my office. There were days where the calls would flood in all day and then days and even weeks would go by with none. They would come in the middle of the night, morning, afternoon, evening and every minute in between, and they were blocked 100% of the time. It was frustrating. It tied up my staff, caused my phone lines to hang open and it irritated all of us.
During that time, I discovered an app called Trapcall. Trapcall unmasks blocked numbers. The serial caller was blocking the phone number the entire time. Within hours of loading the app on my phone, the caller called and I grabbed the number. I called back, but the caller wouldn't answer. Finally, I called the police.
Trapcall gave me the person's name and address. I handed that off to the police, and they followed up. The first round was unsuccessful. The person in question had recently given up the number and a new subscriber to AT&T had picked it up. Soon after, the calls came in and this time, it had a new name and new address.
Again, I called the police with the new info, and they encouraged me to swear out a warrant for the offender. All I wanted was for the caller to stop calling me. I didn't want her to get in trouble with the law, but with over 1400 calls in a few months, something had to happen.
She was served the warrant and we went to court. In court, the district attorney asked me what I wanted to do, and all I asked for was for the calls to stop. The judge threatened the woman with a large fine, and that was the end of that. It has been six months without a call. If you are having a similar problem with "No Caller ID" or "Unknown Caller" calls, try Trapcall. It really did solve a major problem for me.
