I would not be who I am today without Charlene. In fact I might not be here if it wasn't for Charlene, so it's no wonder my thankfulness starts with her. IN 2008 when she was my girlfriend she noticed something wrong with me when i spoke to investors in San Francisco. She commented on my extreme dull nasal twang. I know what you are saying, I'm from Oklahoma so that's the way we talk, but I have prided myself on neutral speaking accents. She also noticed that something was sticking out of my neck, so off to the Doctor I went at her command and I am glad I did. They took out a lymph node bigger than a golf ball and I was diagnosed with cancer.
I have posted here about this before but she also demanded I go to MD Anderson in Houston and again I'm glad I did. She told me to just follow the protocol and stay alive and she would take care of the rest. Are you getting the idea of the strength of this woman. In February I go back for my 10th year check up from being diagnosed cancer free and she has a lot to do with that. She is also my business partner in real estate and is the SC to my DI in the DISC Profile. Fortunately we have learned how to communicate and solve disputes. Most importantly we rely on each other and never depend on each other because there is a big difference.
I go on and on in my gratitude for eating organic, exercising like a Tasmanian Devil, meditating, and taking time to smell the roses. Bottom line it was love at first sight, second sight, and every sight after that. Let's call it the thankfulness of being in love and also allowing myself to be lovable. That second part can be the tough one.
