Having trouble adding images to your blog?

If your having trouble inserting pictures into your Active Rain blogs, a setting on your browser may be preventing the browse button from working.

If you click the Browse button (It looks like this: ), and nothing happens, your browser probably is set to block Pop-ups.

To turn on Pop-ups for the Active Rain website when using Internet Explorer 7:

Click on the Tools Menu (If there is no Tools Menu, Right-Click on the silver colored bar and Click on Menu Bar)
Click on Pop-Up Blocker
Click on Pop-Up Blocker Settings
The Pop-Up Blocker Settings Window will open.
Type activerain.com in the box under Address of website to allow:
Click Add
It will be added to the top of the Allowed Sites: list as *.activerain.com. That's okay. The star just means Pop-Ups will be allowed on all Active Rain websites.
Click Close

Now when you click , the Upload an image to ActiveRain window will open.

Also, how do you ad widgets or links on the right hand side of your blog?

Thank you for your comment.

To get two pictures side by side:

Click the Align Center Button
Insert the first picture
Hit the spacebar a few times
Insert the second picture. They may be up and down, but after you post them, they will be side by side. This is because the editor box isn't wide enough to display them side by side.

That looks nice.

To add links to the right hand side of your blog:

On your blog page, under your Profile Picture and Contact Info, where it says Links [add/remove], click add/remove.
Follow the instructions on that page

I haven't used widgets before. So I don't know how they work.

Chris - good post, just one more word of caution, save your blog in notpad or something before allowing pop ups. I have found that all my well turned phrases, witty reparte or my more usual dull, boring and trite stuff disappears, never to be found again.

Mike - Thank you for your comment. Another option while composing your blog is to save it as a Draft while working on it. This allows you to make infinite edits without letting anyone see your progress but you. And it's saved on AR. See below.
