One minute national housing market video update from RE/MAX for November 2017 using October 2017 housing data based on 53 metro areas around the country.
37 of the 53 metro markets in the November RE/MAX National Housing Report posted sales increases as compared with October 2016. Inventory of Homes was at its lowest point for an October in the report’s nine year history. The Months Supply of Inventory dropped to 3.3 – the lowest for any October in the housing report's nine year history. The Days on Market average of 51 days were also a new low for October for the report and a full week faster than the selling rate of homes in October 2016.
- Home sales up 2.5%
- Median price of homes sold up 3.3% year over year to $224,000
- Average days on market were down by 7 days to 51 days as compared with one year ago
- Number of homes for sale down 13.4%
No doubt that home buyer demand remains strong and that in many areas it's a seller's market, pure and simple. There just are not enough sellers listing their homes, despite rising prices.
