Don't miss the Garden of Lights 2017 at the
San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas CA
The holiday season is here, and there are tons of fun, and beautiful, things to see and do.
Sp put this on your calendar - the annual Garden of Lights opens Saturday, December 2nd at the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, CA.
While no one would deny the San Diego Botanic Garden is a beautiful place to enjoy at any time of the year, it’s especially magical during the holidays when the gardens come to life with 125,000 sparkling lights for their annual Garden of Lights event. You can view the garden and lights from December 2nd through the 23rd, and then again from the 26th to the 30th, from 5 – 9 PM daily (the San Diego Botanic Garden opens at 9 am).
We visited a few years ago and I can tell you that it was truly a special place to visit over the holidays! Truly magical.
And if the beauty of these lighted gardens is not enough, you can also enjoy horse drawn buggy rides (select evenings), marshmallow roasting, visits from Santa (from the 2nd through the 23rd), holiday crafts, a nutcracker display, live music and refreshments including mulled wine. And on selected nights you can enjoy snow – something we don’t see here except in the mountains!
Admission for Sunday – Thursday: Members $10; Seniors, Active Military and Students $10; Non-Members $15 and children ages 3–12, $5 with some additional fees for certain activities.
Friday and Saturday (Premium pricing): Members, Seniors, Active Military and Students $10, Non-Members $20, and children ages 3–12 are $5.
If you haven’t visited our botanic treasure in North San Diego County, this could be the perfect time.
