OK this might not be a big deal to you if you are not a Mets fan or into the inter-league MLB season....but if you are from NY (even though we live in Texas we are New Yorkers at heart) this is always a big series...and a great time to be in the big city. The Mets won round one behind their new pitching ace Johann Santana. The mets collected 13 hits and had enough pitching today to stop the Yankee attack. The Sunday night game is being televised on national TV (espn) so everyone can see all the crazy NY'ers go nuts.

I'm not a NY'er, but a Met fan since I was a kid. I grew up in Utah, so we had no hometown team. I had more Mets cards (thanks to my 7 or 8 duplicate Rusty Staubs) than any other team, so I became a Met fan. 2 years later, they were World Series champs, so it worked out!
Nice to see them win a game...especially vs the Yanks!

I was working all day and did not see the game. But I'm watching the replay right now on SNY.

Santana is tough, and usually good pitching is hard to beat. I suffered the same fate as Matt, growing up in Utah with the same 8 Rusty Staub cards, I used to get 5 or 6 Wayne Garrett cards and at least than many Ed Kranepool cards, I have usually rooted fot the Mets.
