Available homes for sale in Hernando County, Florida have been at consistently low levels over the last few years. Currently, there are just over 1000 residential homes on the market in Hernando County. This number includes single family homes as well as manufactured homes.
Also drastically reduced in recent years is the number of distressed properties on the market such as foreclosure or short sale properties. There are currently only 25 of those total available for sale.

The real estate market in Hernando County experienced its lowest in the years 2010 to 2011 and since then has slowly regained momentum. While 2016 was a good year for the real estate market in Hernando County, 2017 is even better especially for home sellers who will find that their homes will not stay on the market long before receiving offers.
As a result of low inventory and increasing demand, median and average home sales prices have increased in Hernando County and have now reached if not surpassed the price levels of 2008.
