Here's a tip on how to apply today's knowledge. 

Even if you are not interested in the IOT or having a smart house, as a busness person in the real estate industry you owe it to yourself to be current to trends. If you have not already done so, buy just one component of a smart home (google home mini, nest, amazon echo dot) and implement it.

The learning experience is invaluable and you appreciate so much more where we are heading with inovative technology.

 

Here's a tip on how to maximize today's knowledge, "imagine it forward".

In my region of Vancouver Canada, we have an energy efficiency program established, that by 2032, every new house built must be energy net zero. That is, the home will not consume more energy (gas, electricity, water, waste) than it can produce (by solar, wind, geothermal, heat recovery, water recycling, or some other technology yet to be developed).
