Book Review: Tax Strategies for the Savvy Real Estate Investor
This book is written by two Certified Public Accountants with lots of experience investing in real estate. This seems like the perfect mix and I expected to uncover a few tidbits that could potentially lead to saving thousands in the future. I was wrong.
The book is a short read with only 210 pages, 1/5th of which are blank pages, the glossary of terms, index, etc.
The actual information is well presented and easy to read and understand. Each tax-saving strategy includes a real-world scenario of how it can be applied.
Unfortunately, there's nothing secret in here. I've been a business owner for nearly eight years and investing in real estate for five years. I've already learned these strategies through basic online research, my CPA, and personal tax filings.
This book is a great idea for the beginning investor. Anyone with more than a couple years under their belt would be better off doing their own research online, particularly when tax code regularly changes.
