Some AR Groups Are Better Than Others - Aren't They?

Hi Mike- when I joined ActiveRain I posted in groups that make a bit of sense but then realized that what made more sense was to post in a group that was active. I'm a moderator for Bananatude and I can tell you that I've forgotten the rule on occasion and had my own post removed!  It's done so that the multiple-posts from one person don't take up the Group page and give the posts of others the chance to be seen.

I would love to see you back in Bananatude because I love your posts!!!!!

I was glad to see Kathy Streib featured your post in her "Ah-ha" moments for the week! I think Kathy has a great idea to try the Bananatude group as i feel its one of the best around!

How do you find the groups? I've only found the Friday Facebook group from a post I happened upon. ty

I think it's a good question and there seem to be a number of groups that are used a lot, while many no longer have any activity. Bartender Make it a Double, and Bananatude are pretty popular and members are active, and they are moderated well. I personally have dropped out of a bunch of groups since there is no activity and I never use them for posting, and there are others, too. It seems that groups became very popular early on and the number skyrocketed, but other than the major ones I wonder how effective they really are these days.

Hi Mike, i used groups quite a bit some tim ago but also have slimmed down on them. 

Mike, sometimes after seeing what groups one of my favorite bloggers subscribes to, then I'll check it out myself. 

I have started three of my own. It's been awhile since I did that. Got a wild hair I guess! Like Lottie, it might be time to clean house and de-clutter! 

So glad that Kathy Streib highlighted this one. Slow typer or not, you did a bang up job with this one!

Any kind of site where all professionals congregate, it become a social site to network. Most realtors post their blogs and leave.  As for featured I have not seen anyone want to read why my area homes are $1200-1800 sf.  One can get better quality homes for a lot less elsewhere. If you feel you are doing a good job and content. Most likely you are doing fine.

Hi Mike, so glad Kathy Streib featured this post. The first group I joined was Bananatude based on a recommendation from another Rainer who's no longer in the rain. There are a few I favor as they seem to be more active. 

I mostly post to Bananatude, Bartender Make It A Double, The Lounge At ActiveRain, Home Staging (obviously, LOL), Wordless Wednesday, Anything Goes and Realtor Life.

I need to do some housecleaning and delete some of the many I joined that are not even active any more.

Mike, thanks for this post. I belong to several groups and have forgotten about many of them. I need to go take a look at which are active and may need to clean up my list.

I am not yet part of a group. I am mainly just observing and writing small posts right now just to get into a groove, but I would love the chance to be in a group someday. Thanks for sharing!
