Posting a Link to Your DRE for Consumers to Check License Status

Real Estate Agent with Prudential California Realty
A good idea came to mind today as I was roaming my local Department of Real Estate's website. If you take a minute and think of what it is clients look for in an agent, what comes to mind? Let me tell you what I thought about. I was thinking that maybe linking your personal website or even any publicly visible site that you might use to advertise, to the Department of Real Estate's website for your area. By doing this, the potential client will be able to look up your license status and maybe by seeing a clean record, it will assure them that they are working with a true professional. The most important thing to convey when farming clients, in my opinion would be openly giving them ways to research the person working on their behalf, and convincing them that you are not out to do them wrong. Being that fingers have been pointed at REALTORS and loan officers for this depressed housing market being the way it is, it will be important in the future to prove yourself even more worthy than you have now. I hope everyone out there is doing well and good luck to all!!!

Georgia, I have had the link to DRE on my website for a couple of years, even though DRE hasn't required our DRE number on some marketing materials yet, we all should have it on our business cards

Your Commercial Real Estate Link to Northern VA

Probably not a bad ideal. As a side note, I've had a real estate license for over 23 years and not once has anyone asked to see my license or check with the the Real Estate Board. However, a link may increase your client's confidence.

Good Post!

That is a great idea that I use and continue to use.  It is always good to make notice to consumer that your record is clean.  Most clients would like these information to base whether they would want to work with you.

Thanks Georgio. I'm going to start putting a DRE link on my websites, so consumers can see that I'm AOK!
