Joan Brady was born in San Francisco back in 1939 to Robert and Mildred. She worked as a dancer with the San Francisco Ballet and the New Your City Ballet. While in New York City she enrolled in Columbia where she studied philosophy. She met Dexter and they married in 1963.
Shortly after the marriage they moved to England.
Dexter died in1989. She began writing, her first published works was in 1979. In 1982 she published her autobiography. As far as my research shows she is alive and well, her last book was published in 2010.
What you may not know about Joan Brady Masters is that she is the first and only American-British writer to win the Whitbread Book of the Year Award for her novel “Theory of War”. Among her other publications are The Imposter, The Unmaking of a Dancer and Prologue, Bleedout and Venom. Until tomorrow keep a smile on your face, be contagious, and pass it on.
