When Christmas Dies...

Last year, one of my first blog posts was about Christmas in Cody. I shared some of my favorite lights, including this video:

Unfortunately, there was a fire two days ago that destroyed the interior of the home and the light show had to go dark. It may take 4-6 months to renovate the home. The good news is that with the help of the local community, family, and friends, the Messicks should be able to get the light show back up again as early as this week!

Christmas never dies!

Good morning, Nathan... what a heart-warming post. Goes to show what happens when a community comes together to help those in need.

You are right, Christmas never dies, but it is very sad when something like a fire puts such a damper on things.

Oh, no!  so glad it sounds like all the people are ok.  Seems like the light show would be last on the list right now, but yet, speaks volumes of them and the community that it still holds a spot on the list of priorities. : )

Hi Nathan, Thanks for sharing this story.  This is one of the few times during the year, that you really see communities coming together.

Love the picture of the kid at Santa's headstone Nathan.  I've used that as a screensaver before.

Oh Lordy. But it's great that folks care for each other. The Grinch couldn't kill Xmas, so I'd say it's immortal.

Thank you, Bob. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone got along the entire year? What a world that would be!
