It seems to me that regardless of where and what you stand for these days, it's a rough ride out there in the news and on social media. I don't know many who are immune to the extreme polarization, massive changes, trouble, and strife in the world and I've been pondering what I could do to make things a little better. Having no real control over world events, I realized it would have to be something small that made ripples - and was postive in nature, unrelated to politics or policy, and easy for anyone to grasp.
Here is my suggestion: I challenge you to make one positive, nice, uplifting post on social media per week (or daily if you are up to it). Something that will make someone else smile, feel a little better, or just chuckle, by reminding us that despite what we are seing on the major news channels, cool things are still going on all around us. I challenged 100 people on facebook who have collectively over 100,000 friends to do this and use the hashtag #counterbalance, and challenge you to do the same. Who knows, it might make a difference.
