I don't know why 34 degrees farenheit feels so much colder when it s damp and snowing than it does when the sky is clear. We have had snow, sleet and rain since late yesterday afternoon from winter storm Benji. I must say that the few times I have ventured out since the storm hit us, it felt much colder than the temperature on the thermometer in my car was reading.
So I digress and quote the song we hear so often this time of the year, "Baby, it's Cold Outside"!
We missed the storm though it has been windy and cold and a very gray sky. Stay safe, Sybil.

The dampness really does make it feel colder. Today is going to be up in the mid 30s, so not too bad. Wednesday our high is supposed to be 23 and low of 12. Brrr.

We didn't get much coverage in Colonial Williamsburg. The main snow line was about 10 miles west of CW Roy Kelley.
Sybil, I don't blame you for staying inside. I would have had some hot chocolate, too!
Could be some wind chill hitting you - or added humidity in the air which makes it colder. For us, in a dry climate, 40 degrees is much warmer than it is in a more humid area.
You make a good point about the humidity combined with temperatures, Lynnea Miller.
You're so right, Sybil! It's that moisture that seems to be able to get to our cores and make us colder than the temperature would feel without it!
