Are You a Starving Real Estate Agent?

By
Education & Training with Zip Realty

For years, I struggled with up and down incomes, spending money on listings that I couldn't afford to spend, and frustration over hours and hours of cold-calling, door knocking, networking meetings and more.  I actually paid for leads with Real Estate.com and Homegain.com and still struggled.

This year I joined Zip Realty and WOW! have things changed!  Since February, I've closed 2 deals, I have one closing next week, I have 3 listings, and 7 buyers who have qualified for loans and are looking for homes.  I did NO PROSPECTING and spent NO MONEY (other than gas - Which I will be reimbursed for).

I was a trainer with Keller Williams and had spent a year with John L. Scott, so I know the differences.  I used to go through a roll of stamps, ink and envelopes regularly.  I can't count the number of times I went to Costco for envelopes, and the post office knows me by first name.  Did that get me business, yes, but not enough.

If you want to focus on serving clients, receiving leads every day, getting reimbursed for mileage, MLS dues, NAR dues and more, and most importantly, close deals on a regular basis, check us out.

Visit http://www.zipagent.com/recruit/careers/index.jsp  Not only is the information there accurate and true, but it's not the whole story - it's actually better than we advertise.

I am a state-licensed real estate instructor, Associate Broker and full-time agent, and I am happy to answer your questions.  If you're not satisfied with what you're earning, you may not be working the right business model for you.

Hi Jay.  Interesting.  I feel I am a RE/MAX lifer, but I would be remiss not to know the alternatives.

That's great that things work for you with that agency.  I will always stay with my company, but because of the leadership, not so much for the company though.  Even though the company is good.

Jay - Glad you found a good fit.  There are successful agents in every type of real estate company including the mom and pops, the large independents and the franchises.  The key is for each of us to find a good fit that is right for us.  In many times it is not the company that we are with that makes the difference but the dynamics of the office and the leadership or lack of leadership within that office that keeps us with that company...and for some these very same things are what drive them away.

Happy Selling!

Hi Ken,

I'm happy to hear that you're successful at Re/Max.  It's true that each business model is different and one model does not fit all, but once you've found the right model, success follows.  You've obviously found the right model for you.  Congratulations!

Hi Dennis,

So you're obviously earning the amount you're happy with and I think that's great.  No matter which company you're with, the goal is to make enough money to live the lifestyle you choose.  As long as it's working, don't fix it!

I just got tired of spending money and time, struggling to make ends meet.  Now that I've found the business model that works for me, I'm staying put too!

Good luck and success to you.

Hi Sam,

I couldn't agree with you more!  That's exactly why I posted this blog entry.  It is my belief that more agents can be successful if they just find the right business model, company and office environement.  At Zip, we work from our home offices, so that's taken care of, and I encourage people to examine the business model.  For me, after 4+ years, I've finally found the right model, and the company is growing and technologically superior, which fits me quite well.

As a trainer and associate broker, I've watched agents struggle, and I want to help them.  Not everyone is cut out for this business model either, but for those who are, it's GREAT!

I hope you have a very good 2008.
