It’s Still OK to Wish Me a Merry Christmas!

 

There are times when being politically correct is highly overrated. delray 100 foot christmas tree People are scared to say what they used to say for fear of being called out. To heck with that.

 

This morning (this is not the first time it’s happened) someone we see from time to time on our walks was trying to wish us a  Merry Christmas but I could tell that they were trying not to offend so out came this…

    “Merry Happy uh well have a good day.”

I’m not saying that whatever comes out of our mouths should be without any kind of filter nor is it my intent ever to offend anyone (well...most of the time) but come on people.

If you wish me a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah or Happy Kwanzaa...that’s just fine with me because I will take it in the spirit in which it is given.  Wish me Merry Chrismukkah if you want.

If I wish you a Merry Christmas and you do not celebrate or observe it, I’m not trying to offend you at all. My only wish is to share with you the joy of the season.

So Happy Merry! Hope You have a Holly Jolly! And don’t forget the Bourbon for the Egg Nog.

Hi Kathy Streib, I apparently offended someone by wishing my friends who celebrate Happy Hanukkah on my FB page(personal FB page). This person wrote a whole post about this "local business owner" offending her. Wishing you Merry Christmas!

Brian England I don't either. But so many people where we hesitate to say Merry Christmas...They give a generic Happy Holidays.

Those two words, "HAPPY" and "MERRY" can cover a whole lot of ground in the world, Kathy.  I have an Indian friend, who was born and raised in Australia.  She is of the Sikh faith.  But, if you go to her home during Christmas and view all her decorations, you would swear she was an Evangelical Christian. . .LOL
