Don't Fear A Stock Market Drop In December 2017
Why? With all the records the stock market is making, there will probably be a correction. Think about the history of stock market rises, and then add in both the season we are in and the previous decade.
There will probably be "profit taking" by individuals and managers of portfolios. Why not? The stock market has never been this high.
And if investors sell a little now, profits can be spent and/or reinvested. In addition, it appears that the economy will keep growing. If this happens there will be more records.
For example, a 1% drop in prices is 250 points. In 1930 that was BIG, HUGE. However, today with a of 250 points, even 500 points or 2%, the market is still in record territory. I think that some profit taking is coming, and I am not going to be surprised.
So if/when you see a "Market Correction" or a dip, don't be misled by the reporting. Research it and see what the reasons are. Maybe people are just celebrating and looking forward to a Merry Happy! And if you're in real estate, look for more people to invest this next 12 months.
